New Moon in Scorpio — November 19, 2025

Are you ready for one of the most intense New Moons of the year? This planetary pile-up in Scorpio is all about feeling our emotions and getting honest with what we really want from ourselves and others.

The Energy

This is going to be a deep, intense, and cathartic New Moon. And that’s thanks to the New Moon happening in Scorpio.

Scorpionic energy is deep. It’s truth seeking. It’s emotional. And there’s absolutely nothing surface level about this New Moon — especially since it’s happening opposite the planet Uranus, who just moved back into Taurus. And in order to understand the vibe of this lunation, it would be a good idea to break down Uranus and Taurus so we can really understand the energy that it’s adding to the day.

Uranus in Taurus

Taurus deals with the physical. Think resources, money, the things you own, and the physical things that make you comfortable. Meanwhile, Uranus is the planet of shaking things up and the unexpected. It can also deal with things like innovation and technology. For example, when Uranus moved into Taurus, we saw a boom in digital currency like bitcoin.

Comparatively, Scorpio is more so about the emotions, depth, our inner world, and our subconscious. This is the type of energy that’s compelled to get to the heart of things.

So now, we have the innovative and unpredictable Uranus in Taurus sitting opposite to the deep and feeling New Moon. Keeping in mind that oppositions are a point of tension, we can say that this New Moon is about the tension between the tangible and the unseen. This point of tension can spark moments of growth. Like, maybe an unexpected Uranian event might inspire you to get innovative with your resources in a way that feels more emotionally supportive. If you feel suddenly inspired to try something new, like a journaling practice you’ve never done before, or candle magic, this is definitely an “expect the unexpected” kind of New Moon.

Venus in Scorpio

Another interesting element to this that we can keep in mind is the Venus in Scorpio that’s adding a Venusian energy to this New Moon. It’s important to keep in mind that Venus is debilitated in Scorpio. That means she’s not super comfortable in this sign and she can’t really work how she wants to work. But what she is doing is expressing herself using Scorpionic language, which can be deep, maybe a bit heavy or even taboo. It’s sexy, possessive, and even a little bit dark. So for a lot of us, this New Moon is going to bring up energy that deals with relationships with other people, but in a deep and intense way.

Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio

And! If we didn’t have enough Scorpio energy on this New Moon, we ALSO have Mercury retrograde in Scorpio! Mercury began its retrograde period on November 9th while it was in Sagittarius. On the 19th, along with the New Moon, Mercury will move into Scorpio. This switches the script from a Mercury that’s not trying to take anything too seriously to one that really feels like it’s that deep.

The good news is, a Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio is highly reflective. It can help us explore our deepest desires without judgment and reflect on how we can integrate them without shame.

Working With This Energy

So, what does this all mean and how do we work with this energy? This New Moon is about depth, inner reflection, and intense connections. The pile-up in Scorpio is going to feel intense and emotional, but also cathartic if you allow yourself to move through it all.

First, don’t give into, participate in, or cultivate aaaany bull shit. This is the type of energy that absolutely will not be tolerated by anyone during this New Moon.

Second, don’t hide from the truth. Period.

Third, be patient with the information that comes up. The intense and heavy things take time to process. And with Mercury retrograde coloring this lunation, things can feel a little bit scattered and hard to nail down.

If you’re doing manifestation work for the New Moon, focus on the inner work, healing, processing, and integration. With Mercury retrograde around, I wouldn’t recommend trying to plant any seeds that you hope will bring real-world results. But that’s just my opinion — you do what you want.

I know this New Moon in Scorpio is going to be intense, but just know that moments like this are necessary for healing and growth.

And our next lunation will be the Full Moon in Gemini, which I promise will be waaaay less serious.
